How to install a bathroom faucet?

by LeeKenny 13 Dec 2023 0 Comments

In many cases, you can install the bathroom faucet in a shorter time, rather than choosing one of the various fixtures available for the sink. Whether you install a single-hole bathroom faucet or a three-hole bathroom faucet, the basic installation process is similar. This guide will teach you how to install a bathroom faucet. (Take the three-hole bathroom faucet as an example)

Note: If an old bathroom faucet has been installed before, be sure to remove any old caulking or sealant and any old gaskets that may exist before installation.

Installing nozzle

  • Apply bagel tape to the valve stem and screw it onto the nozzle assembly.
  • After applying a drop of plumber putty to the bottom of the nozzle assembly, insert the nozzle into the central hole of the sink, install it in place and tighten it using the included hardware kit.

Installing hot and cold valves

  • Screw the mounting nut and mounting washer onto the valve assembly and apply a drop of plumber putty around the washer base.
  • Insert the corresponding valve assembly into the bore from the bottom of the sink (make sure the blue cold valve goes into the right bore and the red hot valve goes into the left bore) and secure it in place with a gasket and retaining clip.
  • Tighten the mounting nut from the bottom to tighten the valve in place.

Installing handle

Screw the bathroom faucet handle onto the valve assembly from above and tighten it by hand.

Installing drain assembly

  • Take a small amount of water pipe putty and apply it around the drain hole
  • Insert the drain ring into the hole from above, and then press to squeeze out the excess putty.
  • Install the rubber washer, washer and nut on the drain shaft in turn. Check that the drain ring is in the sink. Is in place, and then tighten the nut (not too tight).
  • Clean up excess putty.
  • Slide the nut onto the tail and tighten it.
  • Install the plug on the drain ring and push it down.

Connecting water pipe

  • Clamp the end of the water pipe attached to the bathroom faucet to the valve body and clip both ends to the shunt.
  • Install the hot and cold water supply lines to the corresponding stop valves.

Check the bathroom faucet

  • Open the hot and cold stop valve and handle.
  • Check whether the bathroom faucet is working properly and check whether the drain assembly is leaking.
